Piano Solo - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.749157 Composed by Glenda Austin. Instructional. Score. 6 pages. Glenda Austin #3555105. Published by Glenda Austin (A0.749157). My Boy, Scott is the TRUE story about my only son, Scott! Upon entering high school, he was growing up way too quickly, so I wrote this song. He was into many sports and you'll sing exactly which ones!In the key of C Major, the solo is easy, but the thumb is shared by both hands. Occasionally the right thumb is placed on D, which allows the 5th finger to play A. Take a look and please listen. I've recorded it both ways..as a solo and with the optional accompaniment. Yes, I still sing this to My Boy, Scott! And don't take the ending words too seriously. I've been wrong PLENTY of times.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1129659 Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Kathryn W. Hales. 20th Century,Blues,Jazz,Religious,Spiritual. Octavo. 14 pages. Kevin G. Pace #730069. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1129659). A fun, jazzy, energetic choral composition telling the story of Ebed-Melech and how he saved the prophet Jeremiah. Music by Kevin G. Pace. Text by Kathryn W. Hales. Text: The Good Book says that Moses Was buried by the hand of God; And those bitten by fiery serpents Were healed by lookinâ at a rod. Elijah was taken up to heaven By a chariot of fire, But the prophet Jeremiah Was cast into a pit of mire. âCanât you hear me, Lord?â Jeremiah is aâcryinâ, âWilt Thou deliver me? For I am surely dyinâ.â The Lord touched the heart On one Ethiopian And says to Ebed-Melech, âGo and save my son.â That black man, he did hearken And went straight up to the king, âWhat youâve done to Jeremiah Is a very wicked thing.â âCanât you see his misery? Canât you hear him cryinâ? Let me deliver him, O King, For he is surely dyinâ.â Then Zedekiah repented, Said, âGo get Jeremiah Out of that old dungeon Out of the pit of mire. Take thirty strong men with you Do not delay or wait, Bring the prophet up again Before it is too late.â Ebed went to the pit, Called down into the dark, âIâs a cominâ to save you, Now, oh man, take heart. The king has relented, But before we start, Put old rags beneath your arms, So the ropes wonât leave a mark. Poor Jeremiah was so weak, Heâd almost lost all hope, The men did gently lift him up âCause he couldnât climb the rope. He was kept in prison, But now he had some food, Until the Babylonians came To seize the multitude. âTwas an Ethiopian that saved him, A servant to Judahâs King, Blessed be the name of Ebed-Melek For doinâ such brave things. The Lord uses many people From every tribe and race To be an instrument in His hands, An implement of His grace. âRepent all House of Judah,â Jeremiah kept on aâcryinâ, âTurn unto the Lord again, Otherwise youâall be dyinâ. His words come down through the years To the people of today, âRepent and turn back to the Lord, And walk His chosen Way.â.

Harp - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.928333 Composed by Rory Dall. Arranged by Karen Peterson. Celtic,Contemporary,Folk. Score. 4 pages. Karen Peterson #5993785. Published by Karen Peterson (A0.928333). WATCH THE D DORIAN VERSION: You are viewing the arrangement for lap harp, which is in the key of A dorian. To hear the D dorian version played on a larger harp, go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0-Kg0LifaUOverview: This tune was published by Daniel Dow in the 1770s and was probably composed by Roderick Morison (~1656-1713). My double-strung harp arrangement in the dorian mode has rolled, echoed chords, highlighting the depth of sound we can get from having two sets of strings. The accompaniment hand traverses the entire range of the harp, often overlapping the melody hand.Key and range: A dorian (one sharp). 21x2 strings. G below middle C through F. (LARGER HARPS: For harps with C below middle C or lower, get the D dorian version here: www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/rorie-lament-for-double-strung-harp-digital-sheet-music/21815669)Lever changes: None.Good for: Performance, memorials, therapeutic settings.Double-strung effects: The LH accompaniment frequently overlaps the RH melody range. Rolled accompaniment chords often contain the same note as the melody, creating a rolled echo. Some chords that arenât rolled have doubled notes in both hands, creating depth. The repetition of LH patterns makes this a great piece to learn overlapping hands with.Characteristics: Neither hand needs to place more than an octave spread. There are some four-note chords (always LH 1-3-5-8). The RH has almost no chords. Few of the chords are inversions. There are very few sixteenth notes; no more than three played together with one hand. The LH has two long-run patterns (1-5-8-9-10 and 1-5-8-9) which can be played with cross-unders or a wandering thumb. The RH has a few cross-overs/unders.Finger placement: Finger number suggestions are provided for key phrases. Numbers above the notes are suggestions for the RH (marked with R or R# when they occur in the bottom staff). Numbers below the notes are suggestions for the LH (marked with L or L# when they occur in the top staff).Notation: Chord symbols are provided. Treble clef is used for both staves, with 8va for very high notes. Length: 4 pages. 60 measures, plus 12 if you take the repeat. 4 minutes.Page turns: If you are printing, double-side pages 2 and 3 so that there is only one page turn. The RH can be used on all notes of page 2âs last measure, so that the LH can turn the page. If you are using single pages on a tablet, you can do something similar at the end of page 3. Page 1âs turn is manageable. Contact me after purchase if youâd like a version that fits on two pages: EnjoyTheHarp@gmail.com

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.887255 Composed by Charles-Louis Hanon. Arranged by Martin Woodward. Instructional. Score. 37 pages. Martin Woodward #6513221. Published by Martin Woodward (A0.887255). Hanon Piano / Keyboard Exercises 1 - 30Condensed and Simplified for Beginners Easy ReadingIn this short book you will find condensed and simplified versions of the Hanon piano finger exercises 1 - 30 as well as the major, harmonic minor and melodic minor scales in every key (two octaves). What is Hanon? The âHanon Virtuoso Pianistâ is a collection of piano finger exercises designed to give equal strength, agility and flexibility to all five fingers of both hands. Written by Charles-Louis Hanon sometime in the 1800s, these exercises without doubt have become one of the most widely used techniques by todayâs pianists. In my opinion these are the best finger exercises available. One really great thing about these exercises is that they are applicable to both absolute beginners and advanced players alike, particularly as the reading ability required is minimal. Whatever your ability, these exercises will help improve your technique and finger strength. Having been written well over 100 years ago, the original work is now in the public domain and therefore digital copies can be acquired free of charge on the internet. However, most of these are very poor quality and the instructions are mainly in French or Russian - neither of which work too well for me! For the full version I personally recommend the âAlfredâ Edition edited by Allan Small which is clear and has instructions in English. So why do I need this book? The whole point is to make it easy to read and to reduce page turns - less is more! In the full version the first 30 exercises take up fifty pages whereas here there are three exercises per page for the first 20, then two per page for the next 10, reducing the fifty pages to just twelve. I initially produced this for my own use only but figured that others may like to take advantage of what Iâve done. Does this mean that the print is just smaller? No, not at all. If you are familiar with these exercises you will know that they are repeated patterns which ascend and descend for two octaves diatonically. To condense and simplify them and consequently eliminate an enormous amount of page turns I have shown: the all-important fingering on the first pattern (as per the original)then the repeated second patternthen âchangeoverâ patterns between ascending and descending - which are sometimes slightly differentthen finally the last pattern of each exercise which again is often very slightly different. I have also written them two octaves apart (for easy reading) and only shown them for one octave instead of two. In practice they should be played one octave apart and ultimately be practiced for two octaves. Folk Songs for 13-note Bells and Boomwhackers® (with Black and White Notes), VOL. 1

Large Ensemble Bells,Boomwhackers,Handbell,Handchime,Voice,Xylophone - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565251 By Sharon Wilson. By Various. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. 20th Century,Children,Folk,Instructional,Traditional. Score and parts. 176 pages. Sharon Wilson #3626293. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565251). This sheet music collection of 20 folk songs is notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. For each song, there is a combined score with both parts on a grand staff plus a separate 1-staff score for each individual part. A note and chord reference chart is also provided for each song. The songs in this digital book are ordered by difficulty with the easiest songs presented first. The songs progressively incorporate more challenging rhythms, some requiring rapid chord changes. Many of the songs include two verses. The first verse is âeasyâ with fewer notes. The second verse is âintermediateâ and expands the melody by adding more notes (sometimes including harmony notes). If you want to learn (practice) only the âeasyâ verse, an optional ending is provided or it can be skipped to perform the two verses together. This set of scores uses black and white noteheads and is best suited for musicians already familiar with reading standard music notation. For beginning musicians, this same set of scores is available (sold separately) with color coded noteheads. Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter and eighth rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. Lyrics and chord names are provided as well to aid in the learning and teaching of this song. The number of ringers and whackers needed will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. Instrument assignment suggestions are provided for each song. Each of the 20 arrangements in this collection is also available separately with accompanying preview pages and audio samples. Penelope's Heartache--Piano Solo

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1029473 Composed by Anne M. H. Patterson. Contemporary. Score. 5 pages. A. Patterson #4984267. Published by A. Patterson (A0.1029473). This wistfully melancholy piano solo is inspired by Penelope from Homer's Odyssey. Penelope is the portrait of desperate longing, as she waits for her husband Odysseus to return for twenty years. This piece is the perfect musical companion for those times you long for the return of a loved one. This piece is challenging with a portion in E-flat minor (six flats), many heavy chords, and arpeggios (I am still brushing it up myself!). I would say, however, that if one can handle Debussy's Claire de Lune, he can handle this piece. I suggest using the sustain pedal to your advantage so as to be able to take different portions of the arpeggios with different hands. Despite the rhythmic and technical challenges, this entire piece ought to be expressive from start to finish. A rather cathartic piece in nature, this is the piece to let your emotions guide.Hopefully, there will be a YouTube channel with recordings of this piece and all my future pieces. Stay tuned for more information! For any comments, questions, and other constructive feedback, contact me at amhpatterson.music@gmail.com.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.987083 Composed by Eric Paul Nolte …

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.987083 Composed by Eric Paul Nolte and Felix Le Couppey. Arranged by Eric Paul Nolte. Contemporary,Instructional. Score. 5 pages. Eric Paul Nolte #1954995. Published by Eric Paul Nolte (A0.987083). This piece is a free adaptation and a complete reworking of a study by Felix Le Couppey (1811-1887), from his L'Agilité, Opus 20, 25 Progressive Studies for Mechanism and Light Touch. In its original form, this study was a charming little piece of musical fluff. But getting it up to speed reduced me to tears! It also gave me an epiphany of immense power that transformed my technique. Suddenly I could play faster than I had ever thought possible, and I could do so with a thrilling ease! This epiphany emerged from the spluttering frustration I felt over my inability to play these sixteenth notes at Le Couppey's metronome marking of 144. It dawned on me that I couldnât play fast enough because I was tripping over my own fingers when I used the overly articulated technique of moving the fingers by the lift, throw, relax method. This superfluous motion creates an impenetrable barrier, a speed wall, as does playing legato scales by passing the thumb under the palm, when shifting hand position up and down the keyboard. So I found another way-which Iâve since learned was known to every pianist who ever achieved prodigious speed. Hereâs how to bring this piece up to speed with ease: Be sure to practice this piece with each hand alone. For each group of sixteenth notes, gently place the four fingers down simultaneously, to get the feel. Think of your arm, from elbow to fingertips, as something like a kitchen utensil, such as a spatula. Moving your right arm as a unit, place your finger tips down into the key bed, depressing all four notes at once, as a block chord. Make sure that all the fingers remain stiff (not rigid with tension, but just stiff enough to resist collapsing upwards.) Slowly lift and then play each group by placing all the fingers down with a rotation of your forearm, calm and relaxed, with the fingers rolling through the notes at the speed of a brief snare drum roll: Rrrrip! To rip through this group of notes like this takes no more effort than to place those four fingers down, calmly, all at once! Then, with a quick shift up or down the keyboard to get into position for the next group, thatâs the whole trick for playing such passages with astonishing speed and ease! It takes time and effort to get the knack here, but the result can be transformative and thrilling! As for my adaptation of this study, I believe it offers intermediate advanced players the chance to enjoy a great leap in technique like the one I experienced, and also offers a piece of music that one might not blush to play outside the practice room-perhaps bringing it at least into the living room for a soirée, if not into the concert hall. To make this adaptation, I wrote a grumbly bass line with lungs, and nice fat chords to flesh out most of the skinny little triads that accompany the original studyâs fast passages. I added a brooding, chromatic introduction that features as a melody the accompanimental figure of a broken triad that Le Couppey wrote a few times on the second page, in various inversions. I employed this broken chord figure several more times in both hands, and also added a little coda, sprinkled with sparkle. Playing time is about 1 minute and 30 seconds.

The Water is Wide for Viola & Piano

Composed by Traditional Scottish. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Christian, Repertoire, Technique Training, Easter, Lent. Score, Set of Parts. 17 pages. Published by jmsgu3
The Water Is Wide (O Waly Waly)<br> Duration: 5:24<br> Score: 10 pg. 121 ms., MM quarter = 94, final verse MM quarter = 80, common time<br> Solo part: 3 pg.<br> Piano part: 4 pg.<br> <br> A thought-provoking arrangement of a Traditional Scottish Folksong. Probably most widely known as "The Water Is Wide,"<br> it is also well known by it's more ancient title: "O Waly Waly." The tune is also known as " When I Survey the Wondrous Cross," and "The Gift of Love."<br> This is an original arrangement from the ground up.<br> <br> Programming:<br> If you are looking for something with new contrapuntal and harmonic adventures for a Lenten prelude or a meditation during Holy Week, this will fit the bill.<br> It could also work well in a recital setting because it fits well on the instrument, and provides a chance to show off long, sensitive musical phrases.<br> Some of the figures in the descant verse are a wee-bit more advanced so, this is for intermediate players rather than beginners.<br> <br> Keep in mind these performance ideas:<br> 1. It's a simple tune that needs to unfold in the due course of time, so don't rush it. A slight ritardando at the end of each verse may help if you want to further delineate the verses.<br> 2. There is a lot of interesting counterpoint here, so be prepared to give-and-take on the dynamics more than what I have indicated.<br> 3. The final verse is much slower and more mysterious, and the dynamics are crucial - the quieter the better. Piano - the last chord: take your time on the roll, make it nice and slow.<br> <br> Synopsis of the arrangement:<br> verse 1: Simple quiet duet with the melody in the solo instrument.<br> verse 2: Melody in the solo instrument accompanied by a 2-part canon in the piano.<br> verse 3: Melody in the piano in 4-part harmony.<br> verse 4: 3-part canon on the melody (with a free accompaniment voice).<br> verse 5: 2-part canon with a free accompaniment in the solo part<br> verse 6: Melody in octaves with free bass in octaves; descant in the solo part - loudest verse.<br> verse 7: Very quiet ending verse - Modulates down a fourth, melody in the solo part accompanied by simple quartal/quintal<br> piano clusters over bass chords that suggest submerged church bells.<br> <br> For better insight into the performance of this music: express the emotion indicated by the lyrics:<br> <br> The Water Is Wide:<br> The water is wide, I cannot get over<br> Neither have I wings to fly<br> Give me a boat that can carry two<br> And both shall row, my love and I<br> A ship there is and she sails the sea<br> She's loaded deep as deep can be<br> But not so deep as the love I'm in<br> I know not if I sink or swim<br> I leaned my back against an oak<br> Thinking it was a trusty tree<br> But first it bent and then it broke<br> So did my love prove false to me<br> I reached my finger into some soft bush<br> Thinking the fairest flower to find<br> I pricked my finger to the bone<br> And left the fairest flower behind<br> Oh love be handsome and love be kind<br> Gay as a jewel when first it is new<br> But love grows old and waxes cold<br> And fades away like the morning dew<br> Must I go bound while you go free<br> Must I love a man who doesn't love me<br> Must I be born with so little art<br> As to love a man who'll break my heart<br> When cockle shells turn silver bells<br> Then will my love come back to me<br> When roses bloom in winter's gloom<br> Then will my love return to me<br> <br> The lyrics for "Waly, Waly, Gin Love Be Bonny" from Ramsay's Tea Table Miscellany (1724).<br> <br> O Waly, waly (a lament "woe is me") up the bank,<br> And waly, waly doun the brae (hill),<br> And waly, waly, yon burn-side (riverside),<br> Where I and my love wont to gae.<br> I lean'd my back into an aik (oak),<br> I thocht it was a trusty tree;<br> But first it bow'd, and syne (soon) it brak (broke),<br> Sae my true love did lightly me.<br> <br> O waly, waly, but love be bonnie (beautiful),<br> A little time while it is new,<br> But when 'tis auld (old), it waxeth cauld (cold),<br> And fades away like the morning dew.<br> O wherefore should I busk my heid (adorn my head)?<br> Or wherefore should I kame (comb) my hair?<br> For my true love has me forsook,<br> And says he'll never love me mair (more).<br> <br> Now Arthur Seat shall be my bed,<br> The sheets shall ne'er be fyl'd by me,<br> Saint Anton's well shall be my drink,<br> Since my true love has forsaken me.<br> Martinmas wind, when wilt thou blaw (blow),<br> And shake the green leaves off the tree?<br> O gentle death, when wilt thou come?<br> For of my life I am weary.<br> <br> 'Tis not the frost, that freezes fell,<br> Nor blawing snaws (snow) inclemency,<br> 'Tis not sic cauld (such cold) that makes me cry,<br> But my love's heart grown cauld to me.<br> When we cam in by Glasgow town,<br> We were a comely sight to see;<br> My love was clad in the black velvet,<br> And I my sell in cramasie (crimson).<br> <br> But had I wist (known), before I kiss'd,<br> That love had been sae ill to win,<br> I'd lock my heart in a case of gold,<br> And pin'd it with a silver pin.<br> Oh, oh! if my young babe were born,<br> And set upon the nurse's knee,<br> And I my sell were dead and gane,<br> For a maid again I'll never be.[4]<br> (Lyrics courtesy of Wikipedia)<br> <br> <br> For more information, please feel free to contact me at: jmsgu3 "at" gmail.com<br> James M. Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1041003 By Isadar. By Isadar. Classical,Contemporary,Jazz,New Age. Score. 9 pages. Mainya Music Publishing (BMI) #645734. Published by Mainya Music Publishing (BMI) (A0.1041003). Contains:End Of The Line - taken from the Isadar solo piano collection, The Journey (available soon on SheetMusicDirect and SheetMusicPlus) Sounds like: Liz Story, George Winston, early Windham Hill solo piano artists Transcribed by: David Shenton ( https://www.shentonmusic.com/ ) verbatim to the sound recording Album & Songbook review by:Kathy Parsons (MainlyPiano.com): Isadarâs fourth solo piano album is a blend of smooth jazz and new age, showing both his impressive technique and sensitivity to melody. Several of the eight selections are free-form and improvisational, revealing some of Liz Storyâs influence on his music. Some of Isadarâs earlier recordings have very dark, moody sections, but this one stays fairly upbeat and optimistic without being ear candy. The music is complex enough to sink your teeth into, and yet is accessible enough to enjoy as a backdrop to a quiet dinner or an evening with a good book. Joyful Running begins the journey with an exuberant and uplifting piece that reminds me a little of some of Spencer Brewerâs bouncier compositions. Fountain of Life is a beautiful piece with a water-like flow that never stops in its 10 1/2 minutes. I listened to this CD several times without realizing that this song was that long. It flows and meanders so effortlessly that it seemed no longer than the other seven selections, most of which are between four and five minutes in length. Unstructured and free, this is one of my favorite tracks. I also really like the title track, which is even more abstract and unstructured. The tone is of searching and moving forward. End of the Line is my favorite on this album. Very introspective and contemplative, this seems to be a very personal piece. It is the most somber track, but one still senses hope despite the ending of something dear and important. Or maybe itâs simply the end of the journey and the dread of returning to real life - I feel this way on the last day of my vacations! It is a wonderful and moving closing to an excellent album. The companion songbook is expertly transcribed and engraved by David Shenton of New York Music Publishing. The layout of the music is clear and uncluttered, and the notation includes pedal markings and dynamics that allow the pianist to express the music as closely as possible to how Isadar played it on the recording. A few of the pieces are quite long and require a more advanced pianist who is able to express the nuances that keep the recording so interesting, but several of the pieces are well within the capabilities of upper intermediate players. Some of the rhythms are a little bit tricky, but the majority of the left hand parts are running eighth notes, which make it easier. None of the key signatures are difficult, and none of the chords have a reach of more than an octave, making this music very playable for smaller hands. My favorite pieces to play in this book are Joyful Running, Voice of God (Thanksgiving), Smoke Signals, and End of the Line. Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, the latter featuring some of today's biggest names in solo piano music, including Ludovico Einaudi, David Nevue, Brian Crain, Kevin Kern, Robin Spielberg, Michele McLaughlin, Philip Wesley and over 300 more... Violin Duet Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596615 By John Winstead and Miguel Angel Cotignola. By Juan MarÃa Solare. 20th Century,Celtic,Instructional,Irish. 5 pages. Juan Maria Solare #6208589. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596615). Highlands for two violins About the genesis of my work Highlands: There was a composition competition in Scotland (The Gordon Stewart Memorial Competition), they asked to write a short march for Scottish bagpipes. I said to myself: I don't know anything about the bagpipes, this could be an opportunity to get to know the instrument better. So I began to investigate and discovered that there is a huge literature, many works. Of course: all the works are impressively similar, because it is a relatively limited instrument (with forgiveness of the pipers). But this is an unimportant detail for our story. So, with a collection of bagpipe sheet music at hand, I began to investigate the possibilities of the instrument. And I made a huge mistake: Bagpipe scores are written without accidentals, but they are actually in A major. Sharps are not written simply because there is NO alternative. They can't play anything else (at least the traditional bagpipes), so the sheet music ommits the superfluous sharps. In short: then I composed my melody for that contest in A minor ... which is impossible to play on bagpipes. The fact of having written the melody on board a train prevented me from listening to dozens of works for bagpipes as a reference (at that time - June 2015 - I did not have a mobile internet connection). When I realized the mistake (in time) I rewrote that melody in major mode (well, Mixolydian ...), added some typical bagpipe ornamentation and retitled it: Ballone Castle (the name of the castle of the organizers of the contest, the Stewart Society). And now what do I do with the original melody, in minor mode? Instead of throwing it away (which I never do) I titled it Highlands, and it is the work that you are about to hear, or whose score you are holding. I didn't win that contest in Scotland. But I recorded Ballone Castle and posted it on Spotify: Ballone Castle (for bagpipes) - on Spotify (there is a version with drums and another without them). As for Highlands, the saxophone version was recorded by my Chinese friend Yu Han for the album Images of Elsewhere (Images of Elsewhere (saxophone)). In this case, there are also two versions: solo saxophone and sax with electronic sounds. The electronic sounds here actually simulate the typical bagpipe pedal (drone) note. A version of Highands for oboe Solo was recorded by John Winstead (Highlands (oboe solo)) Comparing both pieces (Highlands and Ballone Castle) it is verified how the simple change of mode (major / minor), in addition to the change of instrument, can work wonders for musical perception. They are two related but independent works, each with its own defined character - like two twins. But the story continues. In October 2020 I began an intense dialogue with the violinist Miguel Ãngel Cotignola, from Mendoza (Argentina). I suggested him to film Highlands. He suggestd me to write a second violin part. I did it. He filmed it on the shore of Lake Potrerillos, in Mendoza (Argentina). This video can be seen here: Highlands (for two violins)Juan MarÃa Solare
